EQ2 gaming computer
Every so often I see people comparing how powerful their computers are. You don't need a very powerful computer to run EQ2. Before Ruins of Kunark, RoK, I would have said 512mb could work just fine if you turned your graphics way down (with long zone loading times). With the new expansion though I would say I gig (and expect lag).
I have 3 gigs of RAM (and one gets spoiled quickly) and I usually don't get much lag if any. With two instances running (both at full graphics) I do get some lag. I wouldn't recommend Vista unless you already bought it and have it installed (I'm running Vista). Right-clicking to run as admin gets boring real fast. Setting permission to always run program as admin doesn't work either, or hasn't so far at least. Maybe with a future pack that problem will be corrected.
Windows XP run the game just fine. What kind of processor do you need? Whatever minimum requirements on the box states is fine. If you have the money to upgrade your computer you should probably do so though.
Here are the minimum stats you should have to play EQ2 Minimum requirements for Everquest 2.
