Best way to level?
Everyone has their own opinion on this matter and it really depends on your playstyle, the amount of time you have to play and the class and equipment. Of course there are other factors that might affect the equation as well, but those are some of the more important ones. I don't have unlimited playtime and rarely have time for raiding for the better gear, but the void shard armor is pretty nice too.
Grouping can be faster than soloing of course but that also depends on if you are in a good group. I would say always go a little bit higher level zone (yellows are good experience if you can solo those, or in a group too obviously). This weekend they have experience bonus zones in some of the older zones (see previous post) and if you are of level for those, don't forget about those. Keep in mind those collections (although lately some of those broker prices are ridiculous).
Sometimes it's fun to run around zones just for the discovery experience too.

Hot Zones Experience bonus this weekend
In some of the older zones there is an experience bonus this weekend. The zones are The Caves, Antonica, Commonlands, Sunken City, Everfrost and Enchanted Lands.
